Porsche Shines in Rain Chaos: Three Cars in the Top 10 in Dramatic Monaco E-Prix
Despite slippery streets and late-night garage repairs, Porsche delivered strong teamwork and secured valuable championship points.
It was a challenging and wet Sunday at Formula E’s iconic street race in Monaco, and under these difficult conditions, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team showcased their class.
With three Porsche 99X Electric cars finishing in the top 10 and a total of 19 points earned, the German team solidified their lead in the team championship.
Da Costa Delivers at the Highest Level
Portuguese driver António Félix da Costa finished fourth and set the fastest lap among the top ten – for the fifth time this season. This strengthened his position as second in the individual standings and made him the team’s standout performer in Monaco.
After the race, da Costa described it as one of the most demanding he had ever driven. He highlighted the difficult grip conditions and praised the team’s efforts in getting the car ready again after damage from Saturday’s race.

Overnight Work and a Comeback
The weekend was far from smooth for the Porsche team. After Saturday’s crash, the mechanics had to work late into the night to rebuild da Costa’s car in time for Sunday’s race.
Pascal Wehrlein, reigning world champion and teammate, struggled with grip early in the race and temporarily dropped to 17th. However, he fought back to finish seventh. Wehrlein noted that the team still faces challenges in getting the tires up to optimal temperature quickly enough – something he felt affected his start.
More Points from Porsche-Powered Andretti
American team Andretti Formula E, which uses the same Porsche powertrain, contributed additional points through Jake Dennis, who finished ninth.
As a result, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team now sits on 133 points in the team championship, leading by seven points ahead of their closest rival, Nissan.
