Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled a new partnership that combines the comfort of a premium vehicle with the magic of one of the world’s most beloved entertainment empires. Starting in 2025, Mercedes-Benz customers will be able to access Disney+ directly from their car’s screen.

The initiative was announced in a press release from the manufacturer on April 9, stating that Disney+ will become an integrated part of the MBUX infotainment system in selected models. This means the driver – and especially the passengers – can watch everything from the Marvel Universe, Star Wars, National Geographic, and classic Disney movies directly from the car without needing any additional devices.

How Will It Work?

The exact technical setup has yet to be fully described, but according to Mercedes-Benz, the service will become available as part of an MBUX system update later this year. Users will likely need an existing Disney+ account and an active data subscription in the car to be able to stream.

The collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Disney+ follows in the footsteps of similar moves in the automotive industry, where, for example, Tesla already offers access to Netflix and YouTube via the car’s screen – though only while the car is stationary. It remains unclear whether Disney+ in Mercedes will be available to passengers while driving or if access will be restricted for safety reasons.

The Car as a Mobile Entertainment Platform

With this initiative, Mercedes-Benz once again signals that the car is increasingly more than just a means of transportation – it’s also becoming a mobile entertainment platform. For families with children on long trips, this means peace and quiet in the back seat, and for adult fans, it might become a bit easier to get a Marvel fix on the go.

The first updated models with Disney+ integration are expected to roll out during 2025.
