Kimera EVO38: When Rally History’s Ghost Becomes Contemporary Art

Heritage Meets Avant-Garde

Kimera Automobili, founded by rally enthusiast Luca Betti, unveiled its debut, the EVO37, in 2021 – an elegant restomod based on the Lancia Rally 037. The EVO38 is the “Ultima Evoluzione” – the final evolution – a hypothetical all-wheel-drive advancement of the original 037 that was never realized.

More Power – More Technology – Still Lightweight

Beneath the bodywork beats the same 2.15 L inline-four twincharged engine as in the EVO37 – but now tuned to 600 hp and 580 Nm.

For the first time, the EVO38 features advanced permanent all-wheel drive. The distribution can be adjusted from the driver’s seat, and the front diff can be disengaged – letting this never-compromising machine become a pure rear-wheel-drive playground.

Despite all the added technology, weight stays close to the EVO37’s 1,100 kg – thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber and titanium.

Circuit Appearances Fuel the Legend

The EVO38 appeared on track at Le Mans Classic and Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025, where its triumph-filled heritage met the future’s raw driving experience – electrifying audiences with its presence.
