From charging station to scenic experience: DS Automobiles and Michelin guide you through France by electric car

DS Automobiles and Michelin Éditions have joined forces in an unusual alliance that goes far beyond tire treads and drivetrains. Starting April 25, 2025, adventurous EV drivers can dive into The Art of Electric Travel – a brand-new travel guide that brings together French experiences, charging opportunities, and culinary adventures all under one cover.

The collaboration aims not only to promote electric mobility but also to rethink the very concept of how we travel in electric vehicles. The guide features 30 routes across France, all tailored specifically for EV drivers. These routes highlight everything from natural gems to gourmet stops, complete with maps, charging points, and activities.

According to DS Automobiles Director Xavier Peugeot, the project embodies the “French avant-garde,” where minimal noise and maximum experience go hand in hand – symbolized by the brand’s new electric flagship, the DS N°8, offering a range of up to 750 km.

The initiative is also meant as a cultural statement. Historian and mobility expert Mathieu Flonneau notes in the press release that in the digital era of electric vehicles, we are rediscovering the poetry of the road: when you stop to charge, it creates a space for presence and discovery.

For Michelin, the collaboration isn’t just about new tire segments. According to Philippe Orain, Director of Michelin Travel Guides, the goal is to “reimagine the joy of travel in the electric age” while also promoting sustainable tourism.

The Art of Electric Travel will be available in bookstores on April 25 for €24.95. Whether you drive a DS N°8 or another electric vehicle, the message is clear: charging time is no longer a necessary inconvenience but a chance to pause and experience something new – slowly.
