Alpine Speeds Ahead – Now Without a Steering Wheel: The Sports Car Icon Dives into Electric Scooters
When Formula 1 DNA Meets the City Bike Path: Electric Mobility Takes a New Shape in 2025
Alpine, the iconic French sports brand known for its lightweight cars and racing pedigree linked to Formula 1, has just set its sights on a new and somewhat different market: electric scooters.
In a fresh press release, Alpine announces that they have entered into a three-year partnership with French electric mobility company Cibox. The collaboration occurs through the scooter brand Yeep.me, and the results are expected to hit the roads—or sidewalks—by the summer of 2025.
The plan is to develop a series of performance-oriented, co-branded electric scooters, where both design and technical expression will exude Alpine DNA. According to the press release, these will be “high-performance” scooters that aim to stand out in both performance and aesthetics in a rather crowded market.
While electric scooters are often associated with cheap transport and the sharing economy, Alpine and Yeep.me are positioning it more as a lifestyle product than a practical solution between two train stations. Details about range, battery size, price, and speed have not yet been released, but Alpine’s message is clear: electric mobility is more than just a trend—it’s a strategic move.
Alpine is already in the midst of an electric transformation and has previously confirmed that the brand’s future will be 100% electric. The upcoming A290 model seed, based on Renault’s CMF-EV platform, will be the brand’s first electric car and is also set to launch in 2025—likely alongside the scooter series.
Cibox, behind Yeep.me, has been working professionally with micromobility for nearly a decade. The collaboration with Alpine aims to combine Cibox’s experience in electrification and urban mobility with Alpine’s sporting heritage and design DNA.
How the performance sensation translates to two small wheels and a deck remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: Alpine is electrifying its future—and it doesn’t always have to involve a racetrack.
